Sovereign Health Care cash plan - Hospital in-patient benefit
Payable for up to 70 nights in one benefit year or 140 nights over 5 years at the appropriate nightly rate when admitted to a ward (not A&E) and receiving treatment as an in-patient. For the purposes of this benefit an inpatient stay will be classed as a full night only if you are admitted as an in-patient before 12 midnight.
Benefit is payable for:
- A customer who has not completed the relevant qualifying period admitted as an in-patient immediately following an accident
- Maternity in-patient admission after 10 nights
- Benefit outside the United Kingdom is limited as follows:
* within the European Union 28 nights entitlement
* outside the European Union 7 nights entitlement(this is included in the overall entitlement)
Benefit is not payable for:
- Admission to hospital/nursing/residential homes/sanatoriums and accommodation arranged wholly or partly for domestic reasons
- Nights when a patient is allowed out of hospital for whatever reason
- Alcohol, chemical, drug dependency, self inflicted illness/injury or conditions arising as a result of such dependency or illness/injury
- Hotel ward accommodation costs
- Out-patient treatment
