An exclusive health care cash plan especially for Morrisons colleagues

The Morrisons health care cash plan, provided by Sovereign Health Care, starts from as little as £1.86 per week and, when the time comes that you need new glasses, have to visit the dentist or spend money on medical prescriptions, you can claim money back. Plus get £20 in Morrisons vouchers when you join!*

How does it work?

When you make a claim, you’ll receive back 100% of your dental and optical costs up to the maximum payback amount for the level of cover you’ve chosen. For all other benefits, you’ll receive back up to 50% of your costs and some benefits pay back a fixed sum, as detailed in the table of benefits. It covers NHS and private treatment and you can choose your practitioner.

When you register for Sovereign’s online customer area, not only can you claim online, you can also access a 24 hour GP service where you can speak to a practising UK GP wherever you are in the world. Plus, through Sovereign Perks you can access a range of online and high street discounts.

Who can join?

This health care cash plan is exclusively for Morrisons colleagues, and as long as you are an employee of Morrisons you can apply to join. There’s no medical needed and the same price applies to everyone regardless of age, medical history or how often you claim. Plus dependent children under the age of 18 are covered for free for many of the benefits. You can also pay to cover your partner or a family member, and they’ll receive £20 in Morrisons vouchers too as a thank you!*

How much can I claim?

If you’re new to cash plans here’s an example of how they work:

This example is based on you having level 3 cover, which costs £2.79 per person per week (£145.08 per year). If you were to claim on dental, optical, physiotherapy and prescription costs you could get £275.18 cash back on the £369.65 you spent on treatment. Please note physiotherapy has a 6 month qualifying period for pre-existing conditions.

How do I make a claim?

Claiming is easy – you can submit your claim online or via post, it’s entirely up to you! Once received, your claim will be processed promptly and your money can go directly into your bank account. You’ve got plenty of time to claim, a whole 12 months from when you received treatment.

How soon can I claim?

When you join the Morrisons health care cash plan you can claim straightaway for treatment received from the date your policy starts. However, certain benefits do have a qualifying period or a 6 month qualifying period for pre-existing conditions. Laser or refractive eye surgery (within the optical benefit) has a 12 month qualifying period. The birth/adoption benefit has a 6 month qualifying period. A 6 month qualifying period for pre-existing conditions applies on physiotherapy/osteopathy/chiropractic, hospital in-patient, recuperation, hospital day case admission, hospital consultant fees and diagnostic tests, hearing aids and specialist medical aids.

How do I apply?

Applying is easy, simply complete the short online application form. You’ll need your employee ID number to join – you can find this on your pay slip.

Who is Sovereign Health Care?

I’m an existing policyholder, can I cover my partner and/or a family member?

If you are a Morrisons colleague and already a policyholder, you can apply to cover your partner or family members so they too can enjoy the exclusive benefits of the Morrisons health care cash plan. What’s more, they’ll also receive £20 in Morrisons vouchers as a thank you for joining!* To apply to cover a partner or family member simply:

  1. Download and print the application form, then complete all sections
  2. Remember to sign the declaration at the end of the application form to authorise the changes, then return the form in an envelope to: FREEPOST SOVEREIGN HEALTH (no stamp or other address details required)

I’m an existing policyholder, can I change my level of cover?

You can increase or decrease your level of cover to suit your needs and budget, though you must remain at your new level of cover for 12 months before you change again. To change your level of cover simply:

  1. Download and print the application formthen complete the sections titled ‘Your details’ and ‘Choose your level of cover’ to change your policy
  2. Remember to sign the declaration at the end of the application form to authorise the changes, then return the form in an envelope to: FREEPOST SOVEREIGN HEALTH (no stamp or other address details required)
